Materials:
-Scalpel
-Tweezers
-Pins
-Latex Gloves
-Goggles
-Dissection Tray
-Pipettes
Frog Dissection Instructions:
1. The frog was rinsed.
2. The frog was laid onto the dissection tray, belly side up. The limbs were pinned down to the dissection tray.
3. With a scalpel, an incision was made along the throat, and a parallel incision was made across the hind legs.
4. Another incision was made that was perpendicular to and at the midpoint of the first two incisions.
5. Using tweezers, the skin and muscle tissue were folded back and pinned it to the dissection tray. The abdominal cavity was visible.
Safety: During this procedure, a few safety measures were taken as there were some potentially harmful hormones within the frog. We wore latex gloves to prevent any contact of skin to the frog and goggles to protect our eyes.
